Step 4

Standardise and moderate

To guarentee success you'll need a robust standardisation and moderation process in place. This will ensure assessment is reliable, fair and consistent. By knowing what good looks like in your school you can establish a common standard for assessed work. We call the pieces of work that set the standard 'exemplar materials'. This step talks you through the process of identifying the pieces of work and developing the standards file.

Discuss what exemplar materials you already have

Have an idea of what good looks like in your school

    Don't do everything at once

    Build year on year

Continually review where you are and what you are           doing

Think about how you can have a strong, robust        standardisation procedure in place

Decide across your school how you will moderate        materials

Identify who within your school is the keeper of standards
